Empowering Minds, Shaping Futures: The EQStudents Project’s Impact on Young Hearts and Minds Across Europe

An Erasmus+ Initiative Unites Five Countries to Boost Emotional Intelligence in Schools

The Erasmus+ EQStudents project has taken an innovative leap in enhancing the emotional intelligence (EQ) of children and adolescents across Cyprus, Greece, Poland, Romania, and Italy. This pioneering partnership, uniting experts and organizations from five countries, has focused on developing an inclusive and effective approach to support the emotional growth of young people. By actively involving primary and lower-secondary schools, teachers, parents, and specialists, the project has crafted a robust toolkit aimed at nurturing emotionally resilient future generations who can better navigate personal and social challenges.

Over the course of the project, the team has created several practical deliverables that will soon be rolled out to schools. These include:

  1. Models for Emotional Intelligence Development: Tailored frameworks for both primary-aged children (6-10) and lower-secondary students (11-15) that provide a structured approach to cultivating emotional awareness, self-regulation, and empathy.
  2. EQ Assessment Tool: A specialized tool designed to assess emotional intelligence levels among students aged 11-15, offering valuable insights to educators and parents.
  3. Training Toolkit for Teachers and Parents: A guide packed with techniques, activities, and resources to help adults support children’s emotional intelligence development at school and home.
  4. Hybrid Game for Teenagers: An engaging, interactive game tailored for ages 11-15 that makes learning about emotional intelligence fun and memorable, fostering skills in empathy and social connection.

Final Transnational Partners Meeting

On October 22nd, the greek school Olympion, hosted the final transnational partners meeting, where project teams gathered to coordinate and ensure the completion of all pending tasks. This was a pivotal session that set the stage for the finalisation of the project’s deliverables, paving the way for their launch in schools across all partner countries. We extend our gratitude to Olympion for their hospitality and support in making this meeting a productive milestone.

The Final Conference: Sharing Results and Celebrating Success

The next day, on October 23rd, the project culminated in a vibrant final conference at Global College, with a packed audience of students, teachers, and parents eager to learn about the project’s progress and outcomes. Attendees were treated to presentations on emotional intelligence and engaged in hands-on workshops to understand the importance of empathy, social connection, and emotional awareness. This interactive event showcased the project’s achievements and inspired students and parents alike to embrace EQ principles in their daily lives.

Looking Forward

As we approach the last two months of EQStudents, our focus is on working closely with schools to integrate our models, diagnostic tools, and games into the educational experience not only for students but also for teachers and parents too. Through these resources, we aim to ensure that students, teachers, and parents across Europe will have sustainable access to tools that foster emotional intelligence for generations to come.

Together, we’re not just building skills; we’re nurturing a brighter, more connected future for the next generations.
