Our Organization is a proud member of the Anna Lindh Foundation network and actively participated in the last meeting on the 18 October 2024 in Nicosia, held at the Cultural Centre of Strovolos.
The Anna Lindh Foundation is an intergovernmental organisation established in 2005 that promotes intercultural dialogue in the Mediterranean. With national networks in over 40 countries, the Foundation promotes cooperation between Mediterranean and European countries, supporting joint actions and cultural initiatives. In Cyprus, the Anna Lindh Foundation network is coordinated by the Organisation for European Programmes and Cultural Relations (OEPCR).
Among other things, our participation in the Anna Lindh Foundation offers important benefits, such as:
Strengthening Intercultural Dialogue as it allows for the creation of a bridge of communication and understanding between people of different cultures, religions and social backgrounds. This environment promotes solidarity and reduces the risk of misunderstandings and conflicts, thus helping to build a more cohesive society.
Networking and Partnerships as it enables us to connect with organisations across the Mediterranean and Europe, thus broadening the scope and effectiveness of our actions. This networking paves the way for new collaborations in cultural, educational and social projects, enhancing our capacities and experiences.
Promotion and visibility of actions as the Anna Lindh Foundation network offers strong communication channels to promote the actions of its members, both nationally and internationally. Through the website, social media and newsletters, the work of members is promoted more widely, enhancing the visibility and prestige of the organisations.
As COMCY, we will continue to actively participate in the activities of the network, to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the Anna Lindh Foundation and to contribute to the promotion of intercultural cooperation in Cyprus.
