EmpowerHer: Inclusive Pathways for Skills Development of Migrant Women for Integration into the Labour Market

Our organisation coordinates the EmpowerHer project as part of Erasmus+, with the goal to encourage social inclusion through skills development and establish welcoming onboarding environments especially for migrant women.

There are 6 participating organizations and centres from 5 countries in this project: Germany, France, Cyprus (COMCY), Spain and Portugal.

Target groups:

  • Migrant women
  • Adult educators (professionals, or volunteers)
  • Employers (e.g., managers, HR experts)

Objectives:

The main goals of the project are to:

  1. Offer specialized educational resources and training that focus on the unique experiences of migrant women, promoting both immediate employability and long-term growth.
  2. Bridge the skills gap that migrant women may encounter in a new Labor market, focusing on developing targeted upskilling and reskilling pathways
  3. Improve the competences of educators and guidance staff in using relevant tools and materials.
  4. Facilitate communication between businesses, governments, NGOs, and educational institutions to create inclusive onboarding environments for migrant women.
  5. Promote inclusive hiring and challenge stereotypes through awareness campaigns, focusing on respect and equality both at work and in society.

Outputs:

  1. The design of a training program and educational resources for the support of adult educators in guiding migrant women in soft skills and employability.
  2. The creation of a user-friendly gaming web app for migrant women to encourage practical learning.
  3. The development of an onborading toolbox for labor market stakeholders in order to support an inclusive work environment
  4. Community engagement through events designed to inform migrant women about job opportunities
  5. Awareness campaigns designed to challenge stereotypes and inform stakeholders about the project’s goal and resources.
