Workshop Invitation -Think Before You Spend

Workshop Invitation “Think Before You Spend: Our Financial Choices and the Sustainability of the Planet” at the 9th Up to You(th) Festival

The Up to You(th) Festival, organised for the 9th consecutive year by the Youth Board of Cyprus (ONEK) and the Lifelong Learning Foundation (IDEP), has become a landmark event for young people in Cyprus. Each year, it brings together hundreds of youth in a celebration of participation, creativity, and active citizenship, offering them the chance to discover initiatives, take part in workshops, and exchange ideas for a better future.

The ImpactFinance project, which is gradually reaching its conclusion, is meeting the youth at the 9th Up to You(th) Festival, organised by ONEK and IDEP Lifelong Learning.

As a reminder, ImpactFinance has been running for the past two years with the aim of helping young people understand the link between their financial choices and the sustainability of the planet. Through innovative tools, the project offers practical ways to foster more responsible financial decisions and conscious consumption.

The COMCY team will once again take part in this year’s festival, staying true to its mission of driving change through education. On Saturday, 20 September 2025, at 18:10, at the Acropolis Park in Nicosia, COMCY will host an interactive workshop titled:
“Think Before You Spend: Our Financial Choices and the Sustainability of the Planet.”

During the workshop, the project’s key results will be presented, followed by an open discussion on consumerism, young people’s financial decisions, and how these affect environmental sustainability. Through real-life dilemmas reflecting the project’s two core pillars, personal financial well-being and environmental impact, participants will have the chance to take a stand, reflect, and exchange ideas.

At the same time, the digital platform developed under ImpactFinance will be showcased, where participants can access further information and educational material on the project’s themes. In addition, all participants will receive the project’s Sustainability Handbook for Young People’s Personal Finances.

In this way, ImpactFinance takes one more step toward empowering youth and cultivating a culture of more responsible financial and consumer choices.
